About the artist
Irene Grasty
Art has always been a passion for me as far back as I can remember. Born near the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, I began painting and drawing pictures at the age of ten. At that time, I won a prize in the National Art Contest.
Growing up in the mountains, my siblings and I spent a lot of time playing outside. I became inspired by the soft sound of the streams of water, and all the different colors of the trees.
For years I have studied book of artist, however, the greatest teacher is the One who "created" all things for us to enjoy, and that is my "Heavenly Father".
I am truly grateful for the gift He has given me. It gives me great pleasure to teach others what I know. Of all the mediums I use, oil is my favorite.
