Follow The Light
The terrifying images of horror
The smoke, the dust, the fear,
The pain, the anger, the sorrow.
For some there was no tomorrow.
The news came in quite early
That September Tuesday morn
A plane had hit a building
And life from many was torn.
And for some, there was no tomorrow.
The news was bad at first
As the saga began to unfold
But it continued to only get worse
The whole story can never be told.
For … for some … there was no tomorrow.
We all remember the pictures
And who can forget the sorrow
On the face of others that we did see.
Yet for some, there was no tomorrow.
For days and weeks it continued
We watched, stunned with disbelief
As they called in more rescue crews.
But for some, there was no tomorrow.
We thought it could never happen
In a land as great as ours,
We just always took it for granted that
We were protected by ‘higher powers’.
But for some, there was no tomorrow.
Yet some still continue right on.
They have not changed very much.
They eat and drink and marry,
… Just like ole Noah’s bunch.
Yet for some, there’ll be no tomorrow.
They act as if they’ll live forever
With nary another dangerous plot
To ever be carried out against them
For now safer airports they have got.
And for some, there will be no tomorrow.
Yet the Bible tells us plainly
That it’s appointed to us all to die
Then what? My dear friend
When beneath the ground you lie?
Because for some, there will be no tomorrow.
Let me ask you sincerely right now
Before you face another terrible horror
Do you know for sure you’re saved?
Because it’s sure, that one day … for you
. . . . there will be no tomorrow!
