Having you as my sister has been very important

My whole life through, and I want you to know that

I’ll always be thinking of you because

You mean so much to me.

Times have changed…and so have we,

But I’m so happy that the special closeness

We’ve had still remains the same.

We’ve seen each other at our worst,

As well as at our best,

Yet we remain very close…

Throughout our childhood,

We shared everything, our laughter,

Our secrets, our problems…

Now that we are older,

We share so much more…

Our dreams, our thoughts, our feelings.

I’ve always been so thankful for you,

For the loyalty and the love and warmth

You’ve shown me over the years.

It’s so reassuring to have a sister like you,

who care enough to understand.

Thinking of you brings warmth,

in my heart and smiles in my day.

I know there have been times when being sisters wasn't easy, because our differences pulled us in new directions.
