4:8 Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things
are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there
be any praise, think on these things.
THE
WORD “THINGS “ APPEARS IN THE BIBLE SEVERAL HUNDRED TIMES.
I.
THERE IS NO SPIRITUAL LIFE IN ABUNDANCE OF THINGS.
Luke
12:15 And he said unto them,
Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in
the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
II.
THE THING DAVID DID THAT DISPLEASED THE LORD.

WICKED THINGS BEFORE OUR EYES, KEEPS OUR HEART FROM BEING RIGHT AT
HOME.

REBELLIOUS CHURCH PEOPLE DESIRE GOD’S MAN TO SMOOTH THINGS OVER.

30:9 That this is a rebellious
people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

30:10 Which say to the seers,
See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto
us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

THE LOVE FOR GOD AND THE LOVE FOR THINGS DOES NOT INDWELL US AT THE
SAME TIME.

John 2:15 Love not the world,
neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the
love of the Father is not in him.
VI.
GOD’S PEOPLE MINDING THINGS OF THE FLESH COMMITT THE SIN UNTO
DEATH.

flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit
the things of the Spirit.

8:6 For to be carnally minded
is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of
the body, ye shall live.
VII.
THE LUST OF OTHER THINGS KEEP PEOPLE THAT HEAR FROM BEING SAVED.
