SOME IMPORTANT THINGS


WE NEED TO KNOW

 

Acts 5:42  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and
preach Jesus Christ.

 

I.      MUST BE SORROW FOR SIN, BY THE SINNER

2 Cor 7:10  For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.


II.     WE FIND THE SACRIFICE FOR SIN BY THE SAVIOUR

Heb 10:12  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

2 Cor 5:21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.


III.     WE FIND SURETY OF SALVATION BY THE SCRIPTURE

1 John 3:14  We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 1 John 5:13  These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

IV.     WE FIND SECURITY OF THE SAINT BY THE SPIRIT

Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

John 4:14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

V.     WE FIND SEPARATED SERVANTS BY A STEADFAST SOLDIER

2 Tim 2:3  Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2 Tim 2:4  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

VI.    WE FIND THE SUPPLY OF SATISFACTION BY THE SHEPHERD OF THE SOUL

Psa 23:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psa 36:8  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

Psa 22:26  The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

Psa 37:19  They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

VII.   WE FIND SAFETY IN SETTLING BY THE SERVICE OF THE SETTLER

2 Cor 5:1  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

John 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

A.  A settler is one who builds a home in a new territory.

VIII.  WE FIND SEVERE SUFFERING BY THE LOST SINNERS.

Luke 16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
