TEXT:  Acts 13:38-39  

Acts 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

I. NOTE THE PEOPLE

Acts 13:38 -- "Be it know unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:"

II. NOTE THE PERSON.

Acts 13:38  Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Acts 13:39   And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

C. It is Jesus that saves

III NOTE THE PREACHING.

Acts 13:38 (is preached)

I Corinthians 1:21 "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."

II Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

A. I believe God honors preaching, not programs

IV. NOTE THE PARDON.

Acts 13:38 (the forgiveness of sins)

Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

V. NOTE THE PLENTY.

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

VI. NOTE THE POWER.

Acts 13:39 (justified from all things)

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

VII. NOTE THE PURE GRACE.

Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

A. I am glad it is all of grace and not works.
