SINGING A NEW SONG

Psalms 89:1  I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

  INTRO: Must be in tune and hit the right notes. The devil's music does not strike the note of our heart.

 

I.  THERE IS THE NOTE OF WONDER.

Psalms 98:1a  0  Sing  unto  the  Lord  a  new song; for he hath done marvellous things;" Psalms 77:14

 

II.  THERE IS THE NOTE OF VICTORY.
Psalms 98:lb – his right hand, and his holy are, hath gotten him the victory.

III.THERE IS THE NOTE OF MERCY.

Psalms  98:2  --  "The  Lord  hath  made  know  his salvation:  his  righteousness  hath  he  openly shewed in the sight of the heathen."

IV.   THERE IS THE NOTE OF FAITHFULNESS.

Psalms 98:3a --  "He hath remembered his  mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel .

NOTE: Faithful in Mercy

Faithful in truth and toward the house of Israel

 

V.  THERE IS THE NOTE OF GRACE.

Psalms 98:3b   ….  all  the  ends  of  the earth have seen the salvation of our God."

John 1:17; Titus 2:11, Ephesians 2:8-9

 

VI.  THERE IS THE NOTE OF PRAISE.

Psalms 98:4-8 -- "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all  the  earth;  make  a  loud  noise,  and rejoice,  and  sing  praise.  Sing unto the Lord with    the    harp;  and the voice of a psalm.  With trumpets  and  sound  of  comets make a joyful noise before the Lord,  the King. Let the sea roar, and the fulness  thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hill be joyful together.

  VII.  THERE IS THE NOTE OF HOPE.

Psalm 89:9  O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy
faithfulness round about thee?
