HOW TO SPOT A CHRISTIAN

Acts 11:26  And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

INTRO:   Birds of a feather flock together.

I.  BY WHAT THEY FEED UPON.

I  Peter 2:2  As  newborn  babes,  desire  the sincere  milk of  the  word,  that  ye  may  grow thereby:

I Corinthians 10:21 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

II.  BY WHO THEY FEAR.

Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Proverbs 29:25  The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

III. BY WHO THEY FELLOWSHIP WITH.

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,  but  rather reprove them.

Hebrews 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

IV. BY WHAT THEY ARE FAITHFUL TO.

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him,  he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that  a  whole year  they  assembled  themselves with the church,  and taught much people.  And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Psalms 122:1  I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

V.  BY WHAT THEY FORSAKE.

Luke 14:26     If any man come to me, and hate not  his  father,  and  mother,  and  wife,  and children,  and brethren,  and  sisters,  yea,  and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

VI.  BY WHAT THEY FINANCE.

Matthew 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not  thy  left  hand  know what  thy  right  hand doeth.

Malachi 3:10  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

VII.  BY HOW THEY FORGIVE AND HOW THEY FINISH

Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
2 Tim 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
