CHARACTERISTICS OF A DEDICATED CHURCH

I Kings 8:63  And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

  STUDY:    Acts 2:42-47

INTRO:    It operates according to God's Word.

I.         IT IS A PLACE OF PEOPLE.

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and  in breaking of bread, and in prayers."

II.         IT IS A PLACE OF PASSION.

Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

Acts 2:45  And  sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

III.         IT IS A PLACE OF PRAYER.

Acts 2:42   And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship,  and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Acts 4:31  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 3:1  Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

IV.         IT IS A PLACE OF PROVISIONS.

Acts 4:32  And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

Acts 4:33  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Acts 4:34  Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

Acts 4:35  And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

A. For the Pastor

B. For the people

V.             IT IS A PLACE OF PRASING.

Acts 2: 46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Acts 2:47  Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Acts 3:9  And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
Acts 3:10  And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

VI.         IT IS A PLACE OF PREACHING.

Acts 2:42  And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Rom 10:14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

2 Tim 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

CONCLUSION: Many church activities that God is not in today.
