SOME  THINGS  I'D  DO  IF  I  WERE  THE  DEVIL

Text:   I Peter 5:8   1 Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Even though a message like this in only supposition, here are seven things that I think I'd do to hinder the work of the Church if I were the Devil.

 

I.   I'D CAUSE DISCREDIT TO THE WORD OF GOD...Gen. 3:1-5

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

II. I'D CAUSE DOUBTS IN THE WISDOM OF GOD. ..Gen. 3:5

A. Accuse Him of being selfish.. V 5 

B. Accuse Him of being sinful. ..v 5

III.    I'D CAUSE DIVISION AMONG THE WORKERS OF GOD.

A. Among the leaders...

B. Among the Laymembers...

 

IV.   I'D CAUSE DISLOYALTY TO THE WORK OF GOD...

A. Disloyalty in our studying...Il Tim. 2:15 

2 Tim 2:5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

B. Disloyalty in our supplication...I Thes. 5:17

1 Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

C. Disloyalty in our services...Heb.1O:25

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

D. Disloyalty in our stewardship. .1 Cor. 4:2

1 Cor 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

V.   I'D CAUSE DISSATISFACTION TOWARD THE WILL OF GOD

Get the people's mind on:

A. Pleasure

B. Popularity

C. Prosperity

 

VI.   I'D CAUSE DEADNESS IN THE WORSHIP OF GOD

A. By polluting their minds... TV., pornography

B. By paralyzing their muscles...

C. By puzzling their memory...

 

VII. I'D CAUSE DISTRACTION IN THE WAY TO GOD

A. By Pretenders

B. By Procrastination

C. By Philosophies
