SEVEN REASONS I DON'T WANT SINNERS TO GO TO HELL

Mark 9:43-48

 

Intro:          This is a subject that many things could be said about. Surely no one wants to see any one die in their sins and spend eternity in Hell. Yet this is what the Bible teaches will happen to all those who die unsaved...

 

I.  THE PLAN OF GOD IN PREPARING HELL...

Matt. 25:41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

 I Tim. 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

 Isa. 14:9  Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.         

II Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

 

II.  THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO BE THERE...

All the sinners of all the ages.

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

1 Cor. 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1 Cor 6:10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Cor 6:11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

All the drunkards, dope addicts, prostitutes, murderers, rapist, thieves, etc.

 

III. THE PUNISHMENT THAT WILL BE THERE... Luke 16:19-31

A.   Notice what the rich man saw..   Luke 16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

                     B.   Notice what the rich man said...

                   

                     He prayed for: 

a.    Mercy... Luke 16:24  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

                    b.  Water… v 24

                    c.  His family... Luke 16:27  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou   

                    wouldest send him to my father's house:

Luke 16:28  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

C.    Notice what the rich man suffered...

Physically, the flames tormented him.

Mentally, his memory tormented him.

Hopelessly, the gulf tormented him.

 

IV.  THE PRECIOUS THINGS THAT WILL BE MISSING...

    A. No Christians    D.    No Compassion

    B. No Churches     E.    No Comfort

    C. No Children       F.    No Cool water

 

V.          THE PERIOD OF THE LIFE SPAN IN HELL...

Mark 9:44, 46, 48; 

Mark 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mark 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mark 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Rev. 14:10

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

II Thess. 1:6-7

2 Th 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
2 Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

 

VI.  THE PRICE THAT WAS PAID TO KEEP US OUT... 

Rom. 5:6-8  

Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

 I Cor. 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
I Cor 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
          

    II Cor. 5:21   For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
             

    II Cor. 8:9   For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
                

    I Peter 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

    Isa. 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

  John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 

VII.  THE PLAN THAT'S SO SIMPLE...

A.    Realize you are a sinner...Rom. 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Gal. 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

B.    Realize the wages of sin... Rom. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

C.    Receive Jesus Christ with repentance and faith.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
