Hebrews
11:1-22
There
are seven men mentioned in these verses from the book of Genesis.
--Seven
is the number of completeness.
--Genesis
is the book of beginning.
There
is a lesson for us in each of these men and the experiences of their faith.
I.
ABEL (meaning breath) OUR WAY TO GOD...v 4
We
can come to God only by:
A.
The birth of the Spirit...John 3:5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
B.
The blood of the Son... Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
II.
ENOCH (meaning dedication) OUR WALK WITH GOD.. V 5
A.
The route of his walking.. By faith II Cor. 5:7
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
B.
The reason of his walking... By choice of will
III.
NOAH (meaning rest) OUR WORK FOR GOD.. V 7
A.
A personal order from God... Matt. 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that
labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest
unto your souls.

A personal obedience to
God. Heb. 11:7 By faith Noah,
being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an
ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and
became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

In
these we see the experiences of the Child of God in his living the life of
faith.
