SOME
MYSTERIOUS THINGS IN THE WORLD TODAY
II
Thess 2: 1-12
Intro:
The “Mystery of
Iniquity” of V 7 is already at work in the world today. I understand that
this portion of the Word of God will not completely fulfilled until after
the Rapture. But I want you to
notice few mysterious things in the world already today.
I.
THERE IS A MYSTERIOUS REBELLION...
V 4 “OPPRESSETH”
2 Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
A.
In hearts, homes, house of God, heathen world
B.
In manners, morals, and modesty
C.
Towards parents, preachers, policemen
D.
Towards the Word of God, the way of God the Will of God....
II. THERE IS A MYSTERIOUS RELIGION.... V 4
2 Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Today
we see a religion that is:
1.
Without Regeneration....John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
2.
Without Repentance....Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
3.
Without Responsibility...Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Or
1.
Without a Cross......No blood
2.
Without a Church....Heb 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
3.
Without a Change in living. .II Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
III.
THERE IS A MYSTERIOUS REVOLUTION.....V 9
2 Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
1.
Political revolution...undermining democracy
2.
Economical revolution..one world money
3.
Domestical revolution. .one world family
4.
Religious revolution...one world church
5.
International revolution. .one world government
6.
The metric system..one world
measuring
IV.
THANK GOD THERE IS A MYSTERIOUS REALITY. .V 10-12
2 Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2 Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2 Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(take
the opposite of these verses)
1.
The reality of regeneration....I John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
I
John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
II
Tim 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
2.
The reality of rejoicing....I Pet 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Phil 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Phil 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
John
10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The reality of the Rapture.... I Cor 15:51
Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1 Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1 Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1 Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1 Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
