Many
people today are talking about victory, but few people actually know the
blessed experience of having personal VICTORY IN JESUS!
Victory
is not a result of works, wisdom, or worship.
Victory
is not attained by prayer, power or performing.
Victory is obtained by FAITH....I John 5:4-5
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Today
I want to share four things that will produce such faith....
I. OUR IDENTIFICATION WITH CHRIST....Rom 6:1-5
A. In Salvation, We identify with His Death....V 1-2
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
B.
In Baptism, We identify with His Burial....V 3-4
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
C.
In Living, We are identified with His Resurrection....V 4c-5
Rom.
6:4c ...even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
II. OUR LIBERATION WITH CHRIST....V 6
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

C. Resurrection Frees Us for Service....V 6c

not to do what we want, but what we ought....
III.
OUR PARTICIPATION WITH CHRIST...V 11-13
A. The Reckoning of Ourselves Dead....V 11
Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
B.
The Reign of Our Sins Destroyed....V 12
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
C. The Rule of Our Service Displayed....V 13
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
IV. OUR DECLARATION PROM CHRIST....V 14
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
A. For Sin shall not have Dominion over You....
B. For You are not under Law....
C. For You are under Grace....
We
do not work for this victory, but FROM IT.
