THE MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH

IN THE MARRIAGE IN CANA OF GALILEE

John 2:1-12

Often this message is preached to sinners. Today before I bring the message there are three doctrinal teachings I want you to note.

1. JESUS HONORS MARRIAGE....V 1-2, you had better make sure you include him when you invite your wedding guests....

John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
John 2:2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

2. JESUS HUMANIZES MARY....V 3-4, She is not recognized as
"the mother of God...."

John 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

3. JESUS DOES NOT PROMOTE STRONG DRINK....

-There are 11 Hebrew words translated wine....

-There are 2 Greek words translated wine....

Anytime it is used in the negative - it is fermented wine, when it is used in thepositive - it is juice.

EXAMPLE: When the Bible says, "Be not winebibbers,"
it does not mean "Be not Jelly eaters or juice drinkers...."

I.    LOOK AT THE SITUATION....
A. Unfinished Party....
B. Unsatisfied People....

C. Unfilled Pots, They were SET, STONE, SIX
D. Unfailing Person....
E. Unfaltering Plan....

II.   LOOK AT THE SAVIOUR....

2. By her Prayer....V 3, she told him
B. His Command to the Servant....V 7

John 2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

1.  The capacity....fill full

2. The contents.-.water

3. The conversion....Only Jesus can do this.
C. His Continuation of the Service....

1. Draw out

2. Now

3. Bear

LOOK AT THE SUMMARY....V 9-11
