THE BELIEVER'S WARFARE

Eph 6:10-18

To deny the warfare will destroy you,
To doubt the warfare will doom you,

To discern the warfare will deliver you.

Notice three things about the warfare....

I.   THE ADVERSARY....V 12

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

1. Not against flesh and blood....

2.  But against Principalities....

3. Against Powers....

4. Against rulers of darkness of the world....

5. Against spiritual wickedness in....

 

II.   THE ARMOR....V 13-17

1. Our Strength....V 14, Girdle of Truth

Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

2. Our Surety....V 14, Breastplate

Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

3. Our Shoes....V 15, the Gospel

Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

4.  Our Shield....V 16, Faith

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

5. Our Security....V 17, Helmet of Salvation

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

6. Our Sword....V 17, the Word of God

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

NOTICE:

-There are six pieces of the armour....

-Five for defense, the number for grace....

-One for offense, the number for God....

 

III.   THE ADMONITION....

1. The Source of our Strength....V 10

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

2. The Surety of our Stand.... V 11

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

3. The Secret of our Success....V 18

Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

All these pieces of the armour can be possessed by the believer
thru Christ Jesus....

He is the Source of our Wealth....Eph 1-3
He is the Symbol of our Walk....Eph 4-5

He is the Strength of our Warfare....Ch 6
