5:13-19
Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Intro:
In Col. 1:13, we are told that believers are translated from the kingdom of
darkness into the kingdom of his dear Son.
Matt 5:14 tells us we are the light of the world, and V 16 tells us we are
to "LET OUR LIGHT SO SHINE...."

by the Grace of God....

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Eph 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
B. In the House of God....Rev 1:20
Rev 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Phil 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

WHY????
That
men may see your good works and glorify the Father which is in heaven.

We are not commanded to 'MAKE' our light shine, but to 'LET'
it shine....
If
a vessel is filled with oil, has the fire put to it, and the globe is kept
clean,
IT
WILL SHINE FORTH IN THIS DARK WORLD
THAT WE ARE LIVING IN....
