JOHN 4:7-11: 'Manifested' V 9
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Anybody
can say, I love you, but God proved it.
I. IN HIS CONDESCENSION.... Phil 2:5-8
A. In V 6, He is Sovereign....
Phil 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

In V 7, He is a Servant....
Phil 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
C. In V 8, He is a Sacrifice....
Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
II. IN HIS CRUCIFIXION....
The
things He bore were mine....
A. His Sufferings were Mine....Isa 53
B. His Sins were Mine....Isa 53:6
Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
C.
His Shame was Mine....Isa 50:6
Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
III.
IN HIS CONVERSION....(My Conversion)
A. He Found Me....Luke 15:5
Luke 15:5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
B.
He Forgave Me....Eph 1:7
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

He Fixed Me....
1. In the family....
2. In the fellowship....

IV. IN THE COMFORTER....John 14:16
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
A. He Indwells us for Protection....Eph 4:30
Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
B.
He Identifies us for Privileges....Rom 8:15
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
C.
He Instructs us for Progression.... John 16:1
John 16:1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
V. IN HIS CHASTISEMENT....Rev 3:19; Heb 12:6-11
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Chastisement Identifies....Heb 12:6-8
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
B. Chastisement
Purifies....Heb 12:9-10
Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Heb 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Chastisement Glorifies....Heb 12:11
Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
VI. IN HIS COMMITMENTS....

The Persistence of His Presence....Matt 28:20
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The Promise of His Provision....Phil 4:19
Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
C.
The Place of His Preparing....John 14:1-2
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
