I want to look at four judgments....
I. THE JUDGMENT OF OUR SIN....John 12:31
John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
-this took place at
Calvary-
A. The people of sin....Rom 3:23; Rom. 5:12
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
B. The penalty of
sin....Rom 6:23
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
C. The
plan for sin....John 1:29
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
II. THE JUDGMENT OF OUR SELF....I Cor 10:31-32
—this
takes place daily in our life—
A. In the Light of the Scriptures....
The Bible is:

A map for direction....
2. A manual for discretion....
3. A mirror for discipline....
B. In the Leadership of the
Spirit....
1.
Guide the Saints....John 16:13
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
2.
Glorify the Saviour....John 16:14
John 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.
C. In the Lordship of the Saviour....
1. Recognize his authority....
2.
Reverence his ambition....
III.
THE JUDGMENT OF OUR SERVICE.... II Cor 5:10
2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
—this takes place at the Judgment Seat—
A. As to our Faithfulness.... I Cor 4:2
1 Cor 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
B. As to our
Fervency....
1.
In Spirit....Acts 18:25
2.
In Service....Rom 12:11
Rom 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
3. In Supplication....John 5:16
John 5:16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
C.
As to our Fellowship.... I John 1:6-7
1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
IV. THE JUDGMENT OF SINNERS....Rev 20:11-15
-this will take place after the millennial reign of Christ-
A.
The Person of the Judge....John 5:22
John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
B. The People being Judged....Rev 20:12
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
C.
The Program of Judging....Rev 20:12c & 13c
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
D.
The Punishment of Judgment....Rev 20:14-15
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
