AFTER THE ANGELS ARE GONE AWAY

Luke 2:18-20

Luke 2:18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
Luke 2:19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Note: A good message for the Sunday after Christmas....

Intro: Mention the big fuss society makes about Christmas, only to take down the decorations and put them away for another year.

Thank God, the Christians can enjoy Christ every day of the year....

AFTER THE ANGELS ARE GONE AWAY, THERE IS:

I.    A SAVIOUR TO BE PRAISED....V 20

Luke 2:20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
A. For His Person....Who He Is
B. For His Past....What He has Done
C. For His Present....What He is Doing
D. For His Prospect....What He is Going to Do

II.   THERE IS A STORY TO BE PROCLAIMED.... V 16-20
A. Their Experience....V 16

Luke 2:16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
B. Their Expression....V 17

Luke 2:17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
C. Their Excitement... .V 20

Luke 2:20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
D. Their Effects....V 18

Luke 2:18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

III. THERE IS A SERVICE TO BE PERFORMED.... V 19

Luke 2:19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

In reality, every Christian has a baby Jesus inside them that needs
daily attention.

Notice Mary's:

A. Duty as a Mother....

1.  Feed the baby—right & regular

2. Fresh clothing—daily cleansing

3. Fit dwelling—clean place to live

4. Fellowship—what kind of mother would it be who had a baby

in her house and would not talk to it daily.
B. Her Devotion as a Mother...She cared for Jesus without regard to

what others did or said.
C. Her Delight as a Mother...In her arms was her very own life, and
nothing is so important to a mother than mothering her baby....
