SIPPIN' FROM MY SAUCER
On this earth I've never had very much and that is quite alright,
I don't need too much as I travel thru the sin of this earth's night.
So many things God has given, and to me His blessings He has showed,
I'm sippin' from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.
I don't miss riches and fame and a great name, I never had any,
But the blessings of the Lord are rich and they are plenty.
I grew up in poor times, but our family, love to each other showed,
I'm sippin' from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.
In this modern world most everyone usually drinks from a cup,
Most people are too busy to sit down and use a saucer to sup.
God in His mercy to me His marvelous grace has bestowed,
I'm sippin' from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.
Jesus said in the Bible that He would come and sup with me,
If I opened the door, from sin He would forever free me.
I'm still a little old fashioned walking down life's road,
I'm sippin' from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.
One day in Heaven we will sit down at God's marriage table,
And Christ will serve us because He is the one who is able.
We shall surely reap everything that we have ever sowed,
I'll be sippin' from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.
In this life God gives us victory over the flesh, the devil and the world,
God gives us strength as the darts of Satan are at His saints hurled.
One day after while, Satan and the devils and sin will all be overthrowed,
Then I'll be sippin' from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.
