Today
I take my pen in hand to pay tribute to a preaching man,
Who
has worked hard to pastor this church and do the best he can.
For
twenty four years he has been faithful to do God's perfect will,
And
he is still working very hard his purpose in this life to fulfill.
Many
years of toil and service he gave to build and see this church grow,
And
he has worked faithfully to bring lost sinners to the Saviour to know.
He
has been faithful to God's Word and never compromised with evil and sin,
He
made every effort to get folk saved and to bring new people in.
He
has sacrificed a lot of time and much money into the Lord's word,
He
wanted to feed the flock and none of his duty did he ever shirk.
Brother
Barber put his utmost into God's service down here,
And
as a Pastor he stood true to God without favor or fear.
No
doubt, he has been disappointed many times by those who did not stay,
But
after a short time many slipped out and gradually faded away.
But
he kept on plugging whether it was many present or just a few,
He
tried his best to get the job done regardless of what others had to do.
May
God richly bless Brother Barber and his dear wife today,
We
pray that the smile of God's approval will guide them on their way.
And
when he stands before God's Judgment Seat at the setting of life's sun,
May
God look down and say, "Brother and Mrs. Barber, your work was well
done!"
