THE BASIS FOR OUR FAITH

  Faith is trust or relying or believing on some thing,

  True faith can cause you to rejoice and in the midnight sing.

  We must build our faith on something that is solid and true,

  And we cannot depend on what mere man can say or what he can do.

  Our faith is not in relics and some things that can be absurd,

  But we base all  our faith on the truth of God's Holy Word.

  Heaven and earth will one day suddenly pass away,

  But God's Word will last forever, trust  it today!

Our faith is in a person, Jesus Christ is His name,

  Yesterday, today and forever, He remains the same.

  He  is the one who paid the awful price for all our sin,

  He paid the ransom to let poor lost sinners come  in.

  Regardless of what you may have seen or may have heard,

  Our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Word.

  Forever, 0 Lord is thy Word settled in Heaven so fair,

  And because of faith in Christ, one day we shall meet Him there.

  Men's ideas may come and stay for awhile and they may go,

  The things of earth will crumble but there's one thing we know.

  Our faith is anchored in the God of all ages, forever true,

  And He's the one who anchors the faith of me and of you.

  Jesus Christ is the Rock of Ages, strong and secure,

  All the promises He has made are eternally true!

  When time and earth have all passed away,

  The truths of God's Word shall forever stay.
