A Tribute To A Faithful Pastor
Twenty four years of faithful service to the church he gave,
Preaching the Word, many lost souls he tried very hard to save.
He was always faithful to always preach God's Holy Word,
And give praise and honor and glory unto his Blessed Lord.
Now, because of age and health, he has decided to retire,
And pass the torch to a younger man, who for God is on fire.
We believe Bro. Barber has done a good job in these 24 years,
He has been through some good days, and some with a lot of tears.
He was on call for his church twenty four hours a day,
Trying to help his church members in every possible way.
In sickness and sorrow and death, Bro. Barber was always there,
He had the true heart of a Pastor who proved that he did care.
We salute a man who never wavered from his appointed task,
He did his job well, as much as any man could possibly ask.
Now that he must step down from his present place,
Will you pray for him, that God will give him added Grace?
That God will continue to use him as long as he may live,
All of his efforts and time and talents to God he would give.
Farewell, Good Soldier, you have fought a good fight,
May God always bless you in your stand for what is right.
