All the Godhead had part in saving us. All three Persons now keep us
saved. The Spirit supplies our deficiencies; the Father overcomes our
difficulties; the Son delivers us from our dangers. Our safety is
certain.

1. THE PRAYERS OF GOD THE SPIRIT (8:26,27).
a. WE ARE IGNORANT IN INTERCESSION.

Rom. 8:26 "we know not" Our ignorance is two-fold.

1. We do not know WHAT to pray for;

2. We do not know HOW to pray.
b. THE SPIRIT OF GOD MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US.

Rom. 8:26 "Spirit itself makes intercession for us.

1. His prayers are according to will of God. V.27

2. His prayers are as they should be. V.26.

2. THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD THE FATHER (8:28-33).
a. THE FACT OF GOD'S PROVIDENCE, V.28.

Its extent "all things"

Its method "work together"

Its result "for good" Contrast Gen. 42:36.

Its limits "them that love God...are called"

Its certainty "we know"
b. THE BASIS OF GOD'S PROVIDENCE, Vs. 29,30.

He foreknew us.

He predestinated us.

He called us. 

He justified us. 

He glorifies us. 

NOTE: who does it all...!

c. THE CONCLUSION OF IT ALL. V. 32

Having done all this, will He withold ANYTHING?

Rom. 8:31,32 "how shall He not with Him give ALL things?

3. THE POWER OF GOD THE SON (8:33-39).

In Rom. 8:33-35 three questions asked and answered:

Sin brought guilt, condemnation, separation of Adam, (Gen. 3)
Christ has removed the guilt (V. 33), the condemnation (V. 34)
and the separation (V. 35).
a. THE THINGS THAT ARE AGAINST US.

Rom. 8:35-39 "tribulation, distress," etc. What can be added
b. THE POWER THAT CAN AND DOES KEEP US.

Rom. 8:39 "the love of God in Christ Jesus".
