THE FUTURE DEALINGS OF GOD WITH ISRAEL
(Romans 11)

1. A REMNANT OF ISRAEL IS NOW BEING SAVED (11:1-5).

a. THE PROOF: Rom. 11:1 "For I also am an Israelite"; i.e. PAUL
himself was saved, and HE was an Israelite; God had NOT cast
them off. Rom. 11:2-4; "What the Scripture saith"; i.e., in
past history unbelief of majority did not exclude believing
few; nor does it now. See 11:5 "even so...present".
b. THE METHOD: Rom. 11:5,6 "the election of
grace"

2. THE NATION ISRAEL AS SUCH IS NOW BLINDED (11: 7-12).
a. THE EXTENT: IT IS PARTIAL.

Rom. 11:7 "the REST were blinded" V. 25 "in part..."
b. THE EFFECT: IT IS BENEFICIAL.

V. 11 "thru their fall salvation...Gentiles"

V.11 "to provoke them "Israel) to jealousy"

V.12  Missions to Israel scriptural and needed.
c. THE DURATION: IT IS TEMPORARY.

V. 12 "how much more their fullness" V. 25 "until..."

3. THE GENTILES ARE NOW OFFERED SALVATION (11:13-25).

a. GOD'S PURPOSE IN SAVING GENTILES.
Blessing of Gentiles themselves.
Blessing of Israel indirectly. V. 13-15

b. GOD'S METHOD OF SAVING GENTILES.

V. 17 Branches of "wild olive tree" grafted in among
(not instead of) believing branches, so that both partake of
root (Abraham's faith) and the fatness (his blessing).
See Rom. 4:9-12 & Gal. 3:6-9.

c. GOD'S WARNING TO THE GENTILES.

V. 18-21 Because of unbelief God turned from Israel to the
Gentiles. If Gentiles are guilty of some unbelief, will not
God end His gracious offer? HAVE the Gentiles been guilty of
unbelief?

d. GOD'S GRACE TO JEW AND GENTILE. Vs. 22-25.

4. ISRAEL AS A NATION SHALL YET BE SAVED (11:26-32).

a. THE TIME OF ISRAEL'S SALVATION. V.25 "fullness of Gentiles
be come in". V.26 "shall come...Deliverer"

5. PROMISE OF ISRAEL'S SALVATION.

11:27 "my covenant with them. Vs. 28 "beloved for the Father's
sakes". Of Deut. 9:5 Everlasting Rom. 11:29 "gifts & calling of
God.. without repentance"
a. THE ILLUSTRATION OF ISRAEL'S SALVATION:

Rom. 11:30 "as ye (Gentiles) obtained mercy.. EVEN SO."

6. GOD'S DEALINGS WITH JEW & GENTILE GLORIFY HIM (33-36)
All His dealings display wisdom and justice.
Rom. 11:36 "of Him (He is the origin), through Him
(He is the power), to Him (He is the object)
