(THE RISE OF TWO BEASTS)

 

Vs. l-10 1. The beast out of the sea comes from sea of peoples and
nation.

2. Satan, having been cast out of Heaven in Chapter 12 now
incarnates himself in this beast who is the Anti-Christ,
probably a Gentile.

3. He is the second person of the Satanic Trinity.

a. The dragon - the devil - counterfeits God - Father
b. The first beast - Anti-Christ counterfeits - Son
c. The second beast - false prophet counterfeits - The Holy Spirit.

THE CHARACTER OF ANTI-CHRIST

 

1. He opposes Christ, right, truth, peace.

2. He blasphemes God, His tabernacle and His people - Rev. 13:5-6, Dan. 7:25

3. Pride. Rev. 13:5

4. Like a leopard - 13:2 Swift to conquer

5. Feet; of a bear - 13:2 Great strength

6. Mouth of a lion - 13:2 Greediness

 

HIS POWER: 13:2-3

1. Political power - Rev. 17:13

2. Military power - Rev. 13:4

3. Economic power - Rev. 13:16-17

4. Religious power - Rev. 13:12

 

HIS OPERATION

1. He opposes Israel - 13:7

2. He desecrates the temple - Rev. 11:1-2; Matt. 24:15

3. He sits himself up as God. - Rev. 13:8, 2 Thess. 2:4

4. He will lead earth's forces against God in the Battle of Armageddon - Rev. 19:19

 

HIS NUMBER - MAN'S NUMBER - 666 - Rev. 13:18

 

Duration of his reign: 3 1/2 years - Rev. 11:2, 12:13; 13:5

His destiny: Lake of Fire - Rev. 13:10; 19:20; 20:10

 

HERE IS THE TEST OF THE REMNANT DURING THE TRIBULATION,
(Parallel- Dan. 3:1-6)

 

1. To bow to his image or be slain. Rev. l3:15

2. Here. is the test of patience. Rev. 14:12

3. To fail to bow means:

a. Death - Rev. 13:15
b. Resurrection, participation in reign of Christ - Rev. 20:4; 15:2-3;

THE SECOND BEAST - THE FALSE PROPHET

WHO HE IS:

1. The beast out of the earth. 13:11, An apostate Jew.

2. A religious leader. Satan's counterfeit for Holy Spirit.

3. A wolf in sheep's clothing. V. 11

4. He is the agent of the Anti-Christ.

5. He derives his power from dragon. (Rev. 13:4,12)

THE WORK OF THE FALSE PROPHET

1. He exercises great power. (Rev. 13:12, 15,16, 17)

2. He performs miracles. Vs. 13-14

3. He directs worship tp the anti-christ. Vs. 12

4. He has power to deceive. Vs. 14

5. He has power to give life to an image. Vs. 15

a. He magnifies image worship. (Sign of a false religion - See Daniel 3: 1-7, Signs of Babylon)

6. He exercises control over commerce, industry, trade and traffic. 13:16-17

 

HIS DESTINY: THE LAKE OF FIRE…. Rev. 19:20, 20:10
