Chapter 12 

1. The, sun-clothed woman - 12:1-2 - Nation of Israel - Gen. 37: 9-10

2. The great red dragon. 12:3, 13:2 - Satan - 12:9

3. The man-child - 12:5 is Christ

4. The archangel - 12:7 is Michael. (Defender of Israel).

5. The Jewish remnant. 12:17

6. The beast out of the sea 13:1 - (Anti-Christ-political leader)

7. The beast out of earth - anti-Holy Spirit. 13:11

 

GOD GAVE TO NATION OF ISRAEL THREE THINGS:

 

1. The law: Exod. 19-20 - Which they violated. Ex. 32

2. The land: Gen. 13:14-15 - Which they polluted. Gen. 28

3. The Lord. Isa. 7:14, Matt. 1:23 - Who they crucified - Jo. 1:11

 

CHAPTER 12:

 

Vs. l-2: 1. The nation Israel gave birth to Christ - the man child.
2. In this verse, she again labors in pain to be re-born

nationally. Isa. 66:7-13

Vs. 3-4: The devil here has tremendous power of earth

1. His seven heads - seven speaks of completeness.

2. The head speaks of wisdom. (See Ezek. 12:12)

3. His ten horns - speak of government (See 17:12-13

4. His seven crowns. His power over nations.

5. The third part of stars. Fallen angels.

Vs. 5: The ascension of Christ, and the rapture of church are

now complete.

Vs. 6: As God protected and provided for Israel in another

wilderness in an earlier day, so He provides for her now. 12:14-16

Vs. 7-9: Satan is here cast out of Heaven.

1. This probably marks the beginning of the last half of

the great tribulation. (Matt. 24:21-22)

Vs. 10: Rejoicing in Heaven.

1. Because Satan is now cast out. (Three castings out of Satan)
a. Satan cast out of Heaven here. 10:10
b. Satan cast into bottomless pit at beginning of he Millennial reign... 20:1-3
c. Satan cast into lake of fire, at the end of the Millennial reign. 20:10

Vs 11: Three ways to gain the victory over satan;

1. By the blood of the Lamb. Rev. 6:9

a. Only safe place for any soul is under the blood. Heb. 9:22, 10:19

2. By the word of their testimony. Psa. 107:2 - Acts 1:8

3. By loosing life to find it. Matt. 16:25; Gal. 2:20

Vs. 13-17:    1. The battle between the seeds continues...

a. Gen. 3:15; The conflict that began in Genesis

culminates in Revelation.

Vs. 14: 2. God provided covering for the man and the woman in

Eden.. He now provides covering for Israel in this great period of trouble.

Vs. 15; 3. Satan made his first attack upon man in Eden. Here

he makes his last ditch stand against God, and his elect...

Vs.16: 4. The earth is God's creation. He made man to have

dominion over it. Here God's creation comes to the rescue of God's people.

Vs.17: 5. Christ has promised to provide for, preserve, and protect this remnant.
