Follow The Light
The
Time is Fleeing
One
day the father of a girl who had died in her teen-aged years,
Had
a dream that was so real, he awoke with fresh shed tears.
He
never had been sure before if his daughter had been saved...
And
now the dream revealed to him her cries from beyond the grave.
"Why
Daddy, didn't you tell me," she said, that it would be this way?
Why
didn't you warn me? Why did you let me have my way?"
"I
tried to tell you," he answered, of what waited for you ahead...
I
tried to warn of the fire of hell's grave when you'd be dead.
But,
no, you wouldn't listen, you were determined to have your way...
Oh,
daughter, dear, it hurts me so to hear your agonizing cries today."
"But,
Daddy, you didn't make me go to church with you.
And
Daddy, you only went there when you felt that you had to.
You
let other things happen, other distractions take the place
Of
going to church like you should have, like telling me of God's grace."
The
man in bed then tossed and turned, as he reviewed his life's course,
For
his daughter had only followed him, and now her life was lost.
"Daddy,"
she screamed in horror, "Oh please come take me away.
The
darkness overwhelms me and the torture is worse today."
And
in his dream, he pictured his daughter, once bright and fair,
now
horribly disfigured by the ravages of hell's despair.
And,
sobbing, he sat up in bed, awakened by a scream...
It
was his own voice penetrating this awful, nightmarish dream.
For
over and over the dream played on, night after night in his head...
He
should have been more faithful before his daughter was dead.
But
nothing that he could do could ever return her to him...
For
his daughter had died three weeks ago…still lost to God by her sin.
Oh,
fathers of living daughters, Oh, fathers of living sons
Are
you leading them onward toward God, has the battle for their souls been won?
Don't
ever give up trying to bring them to God every day...
For
the time of their salvation is quickly fleeing away.
Set
the example for them, lead them away from sin...
Take
them to the cross right now, help them to invite God in.
