SAY A LITTLE PRAYER

by Bertha V. Engel

This holiday we'll remember those men who lost their lives

Who left behind their families, their children and their wives.

Be they firemen or policemen, all of them were brave,

They rushed into those buildings for anyone to save.

That day there was a parade of souls going to heaven above,

To be with GOD for eternity, and feel his undying love.

He took home a lot of heroes to be with him that day,

And left their families here on earth to grieve and mourn and pray.

Each time they bring a body out it gives the people hope,

That this will be their loved one that they carry up that slope.

There will be no celebration in those homes across our land,

Of the families who lost someone in those buildings that stood so grand.

So as you enjoy your HOLIDAYS, say a little prayer,

For the blessed ones who made it out and for those still buried there.
