I'm not called because I can teach
or because I've testified,
but through God's fresh anointing,
my heart's been qualified.

  It's only when I've humbled self
and Christ I've glorified,
that He'll use my life for service
so He'll be magnified.

  And so before I write one word,
or rise to give a speech,
I ask for guidance from the Lord
to show when He would reach.

  And when, in prayer, I seek God's face,
He overwhelms my soul,
and words He places in my mind
come tumbling out quite bold.

  The fire burns within my heart,
explodes, then takes control,
as God, Himself, reveals the words
to touch some wandering soul.

  He writes them first upon my heart:
He uses me, you see,
and there's little talent that's involved.
it's just the Lord in me!
