Heaven’s Sweeter Now

Heaven now is sweeter,
though your heart’s been torn in two,

and sorrow pierces deeply

though you know God’s there with you.

You look back and you wonder,

though you dare not question God

for you know He has a reason,

but to understand is hard.

There’s others going through this,

who can relate without a doubt,

and when it seems you can’t go on…

our Lord will bring you out.

Then you’ll celebrate the life

that your loved one lived with you.

You’ll talk about the good things

and how God’s love brought you through.

You’ll dream your loved one’s walking

on Heaven’s golden street

and visualize your loved one

kneeling at our Savior’s feet.

There’ll be a smile of happiness

that radiates like light,

that reaches down in into your heart

and bring a new delight.

For Jesus walks beside you

to extinguish flames of fear,

and He lets you feel His presence

as He wipes away each tear.

Yes, Heaven’s sweeter now

for your loved one has found peace.

Soon your joy will be renewed

when your sorrow starts to cease.

But until then I’ll be here

to offer comfort and to pray,

and to share the love of Jesus

with you day by day.

You are in my prayers.

May God surround you with His tender, compassionate love as you trust Him to help you through this time of mourning.
