THE GROUND IS LEVEL

AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS

My nationality won't hinder me nor will the color of my skin,

and the wealth I've accumulated won't buy my way in.

It's not the works I do, nor the prayers I say,

Not by my parents' choice or my friend's way.

I cannot boast of what I have done.

but must accept Jesus is God's Son.

My age or birth doesn't matter to Him,

for in the Father's eyes, we are equal in sin.

But He made the ground level at the foot of His cross

and all that I've done, He counts just as loss.

He spoke to my heart and I was filled with shame

until I came to the cross and called on His name.

It's not by religion that I've trusted in Him

but by the faith that He gave me when He cleansed me from sin.

Yes, the ground was level so I wouldn't stumble nor fall.

I just had to come and answer His call.

At the foot of the cross, it is still the same.

Jesus is patiently calling out your name...

saying, "I'll give you salvation, My gift is free,

won't YOU come and kneel here by Me?

My love is eternal, you'll never regret

letting Me forgive you for your sin's debt.

I died for you, I went to the Father above,

now come, please come, and be filled with My love."
