Follow The Light
AND YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL SEARCHED…
Your Guardian Angel searched again and again,
just like the Lord told him to do,
but he couldn’t find where or when
your name was written down for you.
In sadness he approached our Lord,
for the Book of Life doesn’t lie,
and without your name in that Record,
surely you’d have to die.
Emotions of pain crossed our Lord’s face
for He remembered a day long ago
when you wanted to ask for forgiveness
so your soul would be washed white as snow.
But alas, you let the time pass,
and didn’t respond to His offer of grace,
and when the invitation was over,
you hurriedly ran from that place.
Once again your Angel approached the throne
to ask God to grant one chance more,
for he knew that without you repenting,
you couldn’t enter through Heaven’s door.
Oh, so quickly he flew down to earth,
to stand guard by your bed and to fight,
for Satan was gripping your soul,
ready to claim you that night.
You struggled and tossed in your sleep,
so restless with torments unknown.
Satan was unwilling to suffer defeat,
not wanting God’s mercy to be shown.
The Angel stayed by your side the next day...
the last day that you’d have to live.
Friends begged you to admit your sins
and accept the mercy God wanted to give.
All efforts, alas, were in vain
and God’s last invitation was given,
but with scorn you rejected again the plea
to prepare now for heaven.
You laughed and you mocked the Good News
that God was still willing to save.
Refusing His last offer of salvation,
you now would die and go to the grave.
There was no rejoicing in heaven
when you rejected God’s final plea
and your soul was stolen away
while Satan reveled in his victory.
In sadness the Angel returned,
and looked where your name should have been…
but your existence was now blotted out...
for you died...still bound by your sin.
From the grave you called to your friends
but they couldn’t hear your cries,
as in torment you screamed out the truth…
“Satan’s deceived me with lies.
I know now that Jesus is Lord,
and my life didn’t have to perish this way.
Forever, I am condemned, but you’re not...
so go...please get saved today.”
